Well, I took my Garmin 680 car power charger (with the Garmin of course) on a motor trip and shortly after leaving town the Power Charger fell apart in my cigarette lighter, breaking the cigarette lighter. The Toyota dealer said that one should never use the cigarette lighter to power other electronic devices--that one should use the car's power charger for that. Not all cars have additional power outlets---mine does. I was unable to find a replacment in any store so now must purchase one online. To make matters worse, I purchased the MS program that now cannot be used because it "reads" through the Garmin car the power charger. Fortunately, I found an adaptor that would power in my car using the wall plug. The Microsoft service, however, will have to wait until I can get another Garmin Car power plug.
