I can't really use this product as there are radio stations that broadcast using the same frequencies as this product. I can't dial out the radio station and dial in my mp3 player. Wish the unit offered a wider frequency range.Read Best Reviews of Coby CA-737 Wireless FM Transmitter - 4 x FM Presets Here
I had been using a Belkin plug-in transmitter in my car but got tired of the static. I've been using this Coby unit at home for listening to audiobooks on my MP3 player with great results. In the house, I found that it transmits strongly about 15 feet, drops off quickly after that. The position of the short plug wire relative to the radio makes a difference, so I guess that's the antenna.I decided to try it in my Camry, which has an antenna in the rear windshield. I really get a sense of the power of this thing in the car. When I turn it on, static turns to silence. Because my main need is to listen to audiobooks, frequency cutoffs are not important, and I can't report on them.
I like that I can go down to 87.7 FM, below the 88.0 limit of most FM stations. Great in a crowded urban environment. Three pre-tunes seems enough most of the time. I do live in the suburbs of Rochester, NY, so your own experience may vary.
The problem is battery life. This unit burns through a pair of AAAs in about six to eight hours, not a big problem if you remember to turn the unit off, of if you use rechargeable batteries. I would like to see an auto-shutoff feature.
If I could, I'd take maybe half a star away for the battery issue. But at this price, I can't imagine a better deal.

I owned the previous version of this. Almost identical in the picture. The earlier version had digital tuning across the whole FM band.
The current version has only four channels switch selected.
The old one had a 30 hour battery life. This has a 6 hour battery life.
I searched out the Coby because of my good experience. This is not as good as the $12 from Wal-Mart
DABDon't bother with this product unless you like the sound of static. It was like listening to a scratchy record. I had to turn the volume on my car radio and my MP3 player up as loud as they would go, and only then could I hear the music. But the quality was not good at all.
