The added plus with these puppies is that they are light weight at 3.2 ounces, much lighter than other alternatives on the market. Although not mentioned, you can daisy chain two of the these together to provide more charge to bigger, more power hungry devices. Nifty huh?! Another benefit is that when hiking, I can plug in both the switch 8 AND my Guide 10 Plus battery recharger at the same time on the solar panel since they use different ports. Nice feature. A little suggestion is to buy a 4 port micro USB hub (about 1.6 ounces) so you can plug in two daisy chained switch 8s to four USB devices so I can recharge them at the same time while I sleep so they are all ready for the next day on the trail. HIGHLY recommend these little puppies! Go Goal Zero!
If Goal zero reads these, consider doing something similar in a form factor that carries two to three times the charge (again that can be daisy chained) in a light weight lithium battery form factor for those that need more power but do not want to carry around the new lithium Sherpa 50.
Again, very pleased with the switch 8s.

Purchased this to charge my phone and other devices on the go. Once the Switch 8 was charged, I plugged in my phone which I purposefully let drain to zero. Two hours later, i had charged to less than 20%. Rather disappointing.Read Best Reviews of Goal Zero 21004 Switch 8 Silver Solar Recharger Here
Works well for when you are out in the middle of nowhere and you absolutely need a charge for necessary electronics. Charges itself via usb from either wall outlet or through another device. battery indicator lights on the side come in handy for obvious reasons. could use some water repellecy somehow which would make it greater for outdoors use. to each their own.Want Goal Zero 21004 Switch 8 Silver Solar Recharger Discount?
