Acid Neutralizing Mat

This is exactly the same mat sold in the big box auto stores for double the price. This battery mat just slips under the car battery and may require some trimming with scissors to fit in your individual tray properly. Once it is installed it will eliminate the acid that some times drips down a batteries side which froms and corrodes anything it comes in contact with especially plastic parts and wire covers. Less corrosive acid is always the best acid period.

I purchased this as I found that a small amount of battery acid was occasionally dripping down onto my truck's washer fluid pump. After replacing two pumps due to corrosion/decay (after only a couple months $80 a piece!) I purchased this mat at a local Harbor Freight. It has worked great & neutralized any acid that finds its way out of the battery; I have not had another washer pump fail since. Harbor Freight no longer carries this, but this mat does exactly what you expect. After it ages and soaks up acid it will build up the white crusty corrosion you'd expect. I'm buying another!

Works exactly as advertised. I kept getting phosphate powder under my battery (on a metal battery tray) no matter what kind of coating was applied to the sheet metal. The pad was trimmed to fit with scissors, placed under the battery and everything continues to look clean many months after the installation.
