Blue Sea 1011 12V DC Socket

I looked around at local auto parts stores to find additional 12 VDC sockets for my travel trailer, but they were all a crappy and cheap-looking. This socket, on the other hand, is solidly built, weather-proof and has a couple of mounting options. Electrical connections are made with 1/4 inch female push-on connections, so the install looks very neat. I was so pleased, that I have ordered 2 more for my trailer.

This was exactly what I was looking for and at a very reasonable price, delivered reliably and quickly. I wanted an accessory socket that I could add to my golf cart to plug in my iPhone. The iPhone has a limited battery life. I have a golf GPS that I want to use for a full 18 hole round of golf and without extra power, I have to turn off the iPhone for most of the round. Turning it back on increases the time for a GPS lock and adds a wait time before I can get a reliable distance measurement; an annoying wait for my golf partners. This socket was easy to install, well made and allows me to use the iPhone charger cord that I purchased for our auto. The 1 1/16 inch circle drill to install it cost more than the socket!

The product seems to be well made, has ground contact all around instead of a small strip like some. So far I am well pleased.

The product is solid, however the watertight cap fit is not tight and is easily opened even sometimes without touching it.
