This little tester is easy to use and provides a digital display that shows the most important aspect of any battery Cold Cranking Amps! Just connect to the battery terminals, and enter the battery's factory rating. Start the test, and the display shows the actual CCA along with a recommendation.

The battery clamps make great contact on top-terminal batteries, but it's tough to get a solid bite with them on side terminals, such as those used by GM. Also, the cables are a bit short. Not a big deal, but I felt compelled to deduct one star for these minor annoyances.

Schumacher is a solid company that has been around for decades, and their products hold up well. I'm still using the same Schumacher battery charger that I bought 30 years ago.

I love it. This is a creative solution for a an old dirty problem. Old equipment use plain high power resistors to measure CCA. It use to depend on difficult to achieve good contact, high current and associated problems. This as other similar products use a clean low power solution to solve the same problem. There must be a lot of software embedded in this product. Congratulation to the designer.
