GoPoint Technology 9105 BT1 Auxiliary Input Adapters

GoPoint Technology 9105 BT1 Auxiliary Input Adapters
  • Decode Check Engine Light
  • Provides vehicle recall information
  • Provides vehicle special service information
  • Apple certified accessory
  • Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR

Would be a 5 star product if not for the limited scope of the 'included' free software.

To be fair, this device does exactly what it claims to do, however, with the addition of

a package like the $50 DashCommand it does a lot more in real time, a bundled lite

version of DashCommand or a discount or a comparable app would really make this

a much better experience for most, I now have all the gauges missing from my Mazdaspeed3

(i.e. water temp, IAT, G, FPR, EGT, O2, etc...)

much better than adding thirty gauges to the A pillars and looking like some F&F reject.

I would have rated this more around the 4 star area with the exception of a severe problem the device creates. On an iPhone, the device will pair and function without issue. However, if a call comes in or you make an outbound call that's where the issue presents itself. In my case, my vehicles both use the HondaLink bluetooth handsfree system what this means is that the iPhone will connect to the handsfree system via bluetooth and it will also connect to the GoPoint BT1 via Bluetooth. The iPhone 5 supports concurrent connections with bluetooth so this should be without issue however, the BT1 causes interference with bluetooth resulting in garbled and choppy audio while on a call. I can also connect my iPhone to the handsfree link and any other blue tooth device (again, using 2 devices at the same time) and the call quality issue doesn't occur.

This has been tested in 2 Honda Vehicles as well as a Ford system with hands free it's also been tested on 2 iPhone 5s and the problem is easily repeatable. Unplugging the BT1 while on a call will stop the interference from occurring. GoPoint Support was clueless.

More testing is needed as well as a fix.

Not bad, but expensive,,. Will clear check engine light but does not erase it from your car computer memory and you will be in trouble at the time of your next inspection date.

I'm using this on a 2008 Golf GTI Edition 30, with DashCommand, and would say it's worth every penny. The free software's not so good, but stump up the extra money for DashCommand and you have something useful and entertaining. It really comes into its own if you have a Pioneer AppRadio compatible head unit, as you can pretend you own a Nissan GTR.

Bought this directly from GoPoint as it was hard to find in the UK, and not on the Amazon UK store. Expensive P&P to the UK, but arrived very rapidly.

Great product.
