The amp exceeded every expectation I had.
FirstThe build quality is absolutely top rate. The removable connectors fit very tightly. The removable control panel has a positive lock so it can not vibrate or make noise. The RCA inputs are of excellent quality. A nice touch is that you can mount the amp on either side. This was nice because in my installation it worked better to have the back side facing up.
The next thing I observed after the installation was how low the noise floor really was. I could not hear it. The noise I could barely hear was actually coming from the source deck. I measured the noise floor at -109 Db with an Audio Precision Portable 1. That is the best I have ever measured on a car audio device. The ground isolated RCA inputs are a nice touch. No ground loops are possible.
In my installation I am using it to power a set of JBL 660GTi speakers in bi-amp mode.
I was worried that the anti-clipping circuitry or being a full digital amp would color the sound. I had nothing to worry about. The sound is very smooth and the transients are sharp and clear, but not harsh. When driven hard, I could detect the anti-clipping circuitry activating, but it was not too objectionable.
I was surprised that the amp is quite efficient. The fuse size is only 50A, for a 600 watt RMS amp.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.
*** UPDATE ***
So it worked really well for about 14 months. I first thought I was hearing something, every once in a great while. I could not figure it out. The problem has gotten much worse. Now channel one of the 4 channels cuts out and pops about one a second when the volume is low. The power light turns orange when popping. I am replacing it with an Alpine.

What can I say, this amp is outstanding, which is what I was hoping for...this is the first time I've purchased JLAudio equipment, and it's living up to it's reputation. Slim design, lightweight, and runs quite cool...The plug-in connectors for the power/speaker connections are just an awesome idea, well done JL. Being able to mate the power/gnd/speaker connections to the connectors by themselves (without having to wrestle with seeing around the amplifier body when normally doing this) makes installation so much easier. You can easily see what you are doing when clamping down each wire into the connector, and even better, this allows you to wait until the very end before actually mounting your amp. Connectors easily mate into their respective spots on the back of the amp, and fit VERY snug. (you will need to put some good muscle into them when you want to remove them!)...
Also, besides the ease of installation, this also gives the extra benefit of being able to easily/quickly remove your amp in a hurry, for whatever reason (it's blocking access to your spare tire, or whatever!!)
Sound quality and power is outstanding, no complains whatsoever. I hear absolutely no noise from this amp, and it's driving my Boston Acoustic ProSE 60s (rear deck), along with a Polk Audio DXI112 12" sub perfectly!

This was purchased to compliment my 750/1 amp. If you are need of a well rounded system with plenty of ceiling, this amp is great for that application. I had the XD400/4 before and there is NO comparing the two. Get this, get this NOW lol...Want JL Audio HD600/4 Class D 600 Watt 4 Channel Full Dash Range Car Amplifier Discount?
I've ran an HD900/5 in the past and for some reason I feel like this amp is cleaner, warmer, and brighter than what the HD900/5 could produce. I am running JL C5's off of this and it is so loud and clear it actually exceeds my listening levels. Basically I can't handle how loud it gets and it never distorts my C5's. Take your time and tune this properly and it will amaze you!
