Buy USA Spec Pa11-chr 1998-2006 Chrysler/dodge/jeep Ipod/iphone Interface + Aux Input Now
I purchased and installed the USA Spec PA11-CHR ipod interface in my Jeep Liberty approximately 11 months ago. Easy and straight forward installation. Problem #1: Immediately I found it would only cycle through the first 6 playlists on the ipod.(I simply dealt with it since I finally had an ipod connection...haha). Problem #2: Though the steering wheel controls were functional, the interface would randomly skip playlists and tracks in an unpredictable way when using the wheel controls as well as the dash controls. (Yes the ipod was NOT set to shuffle...also dealt with this since I finally had an ipod connection!) Problem #3: After approximately 8 months the ipod cable began messing up, crackling through the speakers and randomly cutting out 3 speakers. By 11 months the cable had completely cut out the 3 speakers unless I wiggled the wire which would make the speakers again crackle and cut in and out. (Yes I tried 2 different ipods and they both did this and the radio still played flawlessly through all speakers) Point is, the cable went bad.The manufacturer "USA Spec", was very prompt in replying to my emails pertaining to the warranty. In my opinion, they made honest attempts to help my situation without simply giving away products. Since I purchased this kit from Amazon it's not backed by the warranty because the seller is NOT an authorized USA Spec dealer. Let alone I installed it myself. Here's their web page explaining this, obviously unknown prior to purchasing. (http://usaspec.com/page.php?PageID=17) I understand and by no means expect businesses to be held accountable for the uncontrollable actions of others. Though I do feel Amazon should have an "expected warranty" area under such products. This way the seller lists the warranty and is then responsible. USA Spec offered to pay for return shipping to them directly so they could diagnose the problem. If the problem was fixable, I'd be charged up to but not exceeding $75 or I could opt for a 20% discount off a new kit costing me $116. In conclusion, I'm not ready to invest more money in a product which doesn't seem to be fixable. Yes the cable will most likely be replaced, however the interface will most likely have problems with skipping tracks, etc. Thus I'll most likely be purchasing a different integration kit.Like others I appear to have run into the same issue of the device failing. Apparently it stops putting out a signal and the radio receiver then switches over to FM mode. I emailed customer service and because it's been over a year the only thing they'll do is charge me $75 to fix it or sell me a new unit at 20% below MSRP (which happens to be the price at which I paid for it.)
No thanks. My advice: try a different brand.

This device seems to be working fine, after only a few days. Only issue is a slight hum using the iPod connector even if the iPod is off. No hum using the audio jacks. The hum is low enough that I can't hear it if the engine is off. So, driving, I don't hear it at all. Warning, the manufacturer states, on their site, that Amazon and Amazon re-sellers are not authorized re-sellers so they do not honor the warranty! This product was very easy to install, just had to basically plug and play. I have noticed that it doesn't always pick up the phone right away to play the music, I have to hit the mode button to scroll through the modes to get back to the one that plays music through the adapter. That is why I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
