It works, easy enough to install if you are willing to drop your headliner to run the video cables. This was installed on a 07 Toy Tundra so becareful in hooking up the power wire for the domelight feature. Toyota's circuitry will allow the dome light and video system to stay on and drain the battery. You will have to wire the unit to a switched power source to keep the unit from draining and as a result use the dome light as manually (ie turn on and off). Also the led dome light is not very bright compared to the factory system. This is fine if you want to leave the dome light on while driving but not very good at illumination when you want to find something in the back seat.

The plastic is good at best, I have not subjected the vehicle to heat source such as parking in the sun in the summer so not sure how it will fair once we get into the 100+ degree weather here. Will report back then if I have issues.

A little over a year later:

1: monitor is a little heavy so expect it to jiggle a bit while driving down the road, not a problem if you are sitting still.

2. Over time the plastic warps a little around the bezel housing that the monitor snaps into so opening it takes two hands, one to squeeze the housing a little bit and the other to pop the button to open it.

Overall, video quality is good, not true to color but it is also not +1K for this unit

I bought this monitor to replace a faulty monitored installed by a retail store (out of warranty). While it was a bit of a challenge to utilize the metal plate that came with unit into the headliner, it was worth it in the end. The installation is quite secure and stable. The hookups matched my Nesa wiring without any problems.

The picture output is acceptable, doesn't do well during strong sunlight days. Picture washes out, but that's to be expected for a unit at this price. Works well when the sun isn't so strong or during the evening.

I installed it just prior to a 1200 mile round-trip vacation and the family was pleased with its performance, in other words, there weren't any complaints from the peanut gallery in the back.

I would recommend this item for anyone on a budget.

Unit lighter than the previous one that was installed. It doesn't include screws to attach the mounting plate to the vehicle. To mount the unit to the ceiling i had to first cut a four (4) inch hole in the center of the mounting plate. This allowed me to place material on the other side of the headliner for the screws to attach to, i was only able to attach two (2) screws to a cross beam in my installation. The screen seems a little hard to open at the moment but maybe it will loose a little over time.

I bought this as a replacement for a 7.5 inch TFT monitor in my 2001 Nissan Frontier to keep my kids entertained on trips. I do not drive my truck that often to begin with but several days after installing and testing, I discovered that my battery had died. Had the battery tested and found nothing wrong with it. Recharged the battery and again, several days later, dead battery. Needed to get a jump start and a day later, discovered that the monitor would not work and the battery was dead again. Pulled the overhead unit, recharged the battery and after several days of non-use, nothing wrong, truck started fine and have had no problems since removing this piece of junk. Only had this monitor for a month and a half before it died. Cause of the battery drain was the monitor. Installed correctly using existing wiring. Will never buy another Pyle (of Crap) like this again. Save your money and put it towards a higher end unit which I now have to save up for since I wasted a good chunk on this cheap piece of plastic.

I purchased this roof mount tv and am very satisfied with it. The only issue that I have is that if I hit certain bumps in the road the screen will pop open if closed. I like the quality of the clarity and I would recommend this to others.
