OTC 4611 Battery Terminal Puller

I used this tool to pull the windshield wipers off a 1998 M3 that had, presumably, been on the car for the last 14 years (given the effort required to remove them).

I found the 4611 to be a really solid little tool. Its design allowed me to be comfortable applying the significant amount of torque required to break the arms free as it remained nicely square over the wipers' threaded stud and the leverage arm on the tools threaded rod (the one with the little red tab) is long enough to pull on but not so large that it's in the way (it slides back and forth, in case that isn't clear from the picture).

I also own a OTC 4676 Windshield Wiper Puller which was inadequate for the task, despite a lot more fuss than I invested with the 4611.

This is a well made battery terminal puller for the price. It's manufactured in Taiwan, but seems durable and operates smoothly. This tool will also come in handy for other things like pulling stuck windshield wiper arms and removing press-fit retainer caps and bearings found in small appliances and power tools.

I'm happy with it and when considering the cost, I think it was probably the best overall value I could find for this type of terminal puller.

It's made of metal. It works on almost all types of wiper arms. It's easy to use. The other type, with the plastic knob they sell at Auto Zone breaks easily and it's difficult to use. This one is terrific.

Really good stuff for the price and a breeze to use. The only thing that could do with improvement is the lever handle on top of the screw bolt. If the battery terminal (or wiper arm in my case) is really stuck, the lever will bend when the going gets tough and will require using something else to turn the screw, like pliers. Maybe making the handle of the same material as the claws would fix that.
