I was looking for a universal mount that would work with my wife's Galaxy S3 smarter-than-me phone and her Garmin and would also be compatible with our other mounts. This one fit the need perfectly. The ball receiver is the same as the stock Garmin and the clamps firmly hold both of the devices. I found placing the edge of the device against the sliding side and pushing the device into place is the easiest method, but requires two hands most of the time. I touch of silicone spray helped the action. I also ordered one for my Droid MAxx HD for a couple dollars less. It turned out to be exactly the same mount.
