GPS / GPRS / GSM Vehicle / Car Tracker (4-Frequency) TK106

GPS / GPRS / GSM Vehicle / Car Tracker TK106
  • Remote cut off power and oil via SMS or GPRS
  • Monitor function and SOS button;Auto position report
  • Overspeed alert when the target moves exceed of the restricted speed.
  • Geofence alert when it breaches the restricted area.
  • Movement alert when it begins to move;Low battery alert if the battery is low.

I am still trying to connect this device to my car (Hyundai Terracan 2007). This is a promising product with plenty of features. Way more than what is explained on this webpage. However, there are some missing information on the manual to install it. Like:

1 it is not clear if the 12VCD red wire of the module box is to be connected to an always hot 12VCD. If so, would this drain the battery?

2 the cutting off oil and cutting off circuit features are not clear to be able to be used together.

3 the provided relay is not the same of the photos on the manual (with more wires...)

4 the text about the relay feet 86 is the same for both features, despite these wires are in different pins (white on 85 and yellow on 86)

5 the wires colors and feet do not match on the photos compared with the text on the manual.

These may be issues related to "typos" on the manual and upgrades that are not reflected neither. But the seller may clarify them. I just contacted them. Hope they help to clarify the connection diagram of the provided relay.

UPDATE 1: seller answered fast but not addressing any of the questions and just sending an electronic copy of the same printed document (manual). They say to connect the red wire to the 12VCD "as in the photo", but the photo does not show anything on that wire. The text states feet 85 is for 12VCD while that wire is on feet 87...

will keep you informed about this and on how the device performs. Again, it is a promising device but better support is needed.

UPDATE 2: the seller answered again, sharing with me an "in development" version of the manual. This one is addressing several of the problems presented by the manual shipped with my item. The user has to decide wether to use the oil or the electric circuit cut off option noth both. My choice was the electric circuit. On this layout, the wiring has to be set:

relay 85 feet with the white wire of the module box (that was easy); 86 feet to 12 VCD (but which one? I think the 12VCD that gets life with "accs"); 87a and 30 feet in series with the supply power circuits (when the relay is not energized 87a feet and 30 feet are in contact but they get disconnected when 85 feet activates the relay with 86 feet); 87 feet is not used. So, pay attention only to the feet number or code (printed on the relay itself), regardless of the colors of the wires of the adapter provided with the relay (different adaptors have different color wires...)

UPDATE 3: my car has a turbo-timer, that turns off the engine a minute after the key is removed, to give time the turbo cool and decompress. I used it to discover which wires the relay 30-87a feet should be conected to and finally I have all the features working. The user guide has problems on the instalation instructions as well as on the full list of SMS commands available, but seller responded helping to solve most the issues and finally the device is AWESOME. I would buy it again for another car (now that I know how to install it). It is small, easy to hide, the GPS is very fast to lock the position and accurate (despite I put it inside the panel behind the gloves box), and the module box has a built in battery for short term support if the car's battery is removed. The SMS received on my Samsung Galaxy includes a link that is opened directly by google-maps, showing the cars position. Every time the Alarm fires on, I receives in seconds a message on my phone. This is a great device at a reasonable price. I am very happy with it and I recommend it very much. Stay in tune since I am planning to develop an Android app to simplify the use of the SMS from the phone's side.
